It’s week 10, and I still have horrible internet service! Thanks Time Warner Cable. Since I am posting this from my Blackberry, let’s dive right into the top games and a few storylines to keep an eye on.
Baylor looks to continue their magical season this week in Stillwater, OK. The Bears face a Cowboys team that will get their top playmaker back in Justin Blackmon. Look for a lot of points to e scored in this game and a few mind blowing plays by RG-3. I like Bears to win a tight one. If Baylor does win this game, look for their confidence to skyrocket and be a big time contender in the Big 12 South.
The Arizona Wildcats head to Stanford for a battle with The Cardinal. This game has the potential to be a very good one. One thing to keep an eye on is the Stanford defense getting pressure on a self proclaimed 100% healthy Nick Foles. If they can get to Foles at all, Stanford should be in good shape to pull out the W.
The Razorbacks and Gamecocks square off in Columbia, SC in an SEC inter-division battle. Look for points to be scored in bunches, but if the Gamecock secondary can coax Arky QB Ryan Mallett into a mistake or 2, that could be the difference. The loss of WR Greg Childs for the Razorbacks is huge, but they have weapons to spare. I like the Razorbacks to outscore the Gamecocks.
Baton Rouge, LA is the site off a huge SEC West battle, as the Alabama Crimson Tide face the LSU Tigers. This game features some big time, future NFL talent. The LSU defense is loaded with players that will head to the next level, Patrick Peterson, Kelvin Sheppard and Drake Nevis to name a few. Those talents on the Tiger Defense will battle with top prospects like: Julio Jones, Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson. Bama, in my opinion, has too much on both sides of the ball for this game to be close. I like the Crimson Tide to take this game easily, simply because LSU can’t score.
The biggest game of the week has to be the Mountain West battle between TCU and Utah. This is an elimination game, as the loser has no shot to make the BCS. I like both these teams a lot, TCU’s speed is unrivaled and Utah is about as complete of a team as their is. I know that TCU is 0-3 in Salt Lake City and Utah is a great team, but I like TCU to take a very tight game, it’s gonna come down to the last possesion.
Other games to keep an eye on:
Maryland @ Miami
Navy @ ECU
Hawaii @ Boise State
