If you can only watch 4 games this week, these are the 4 I recommend. Missouri, Oregon, Michigan State and Auburn are the top 4 BCS schools left with National Title implications on the line. Here is a little info on each game to improve your viewing pleasure, as well as my predictions. I’ll go over a few other games below the Big 4.
The Oregon Ducks head to The Coliseum to face the USC Trojans in the late game tonight. College Game Day is there as well, but that isn’t a good thing for the number 1 ranked team lately. I’m sure Oregon doesn’t care that Alabama, Ohio State and Oklahoma have all lost their #1 ranking while being a part of Game Day. This weeks game is going to feature a lot of offense on both sides of the ball. The Ducks are incredible at putting the ball in the endzone, and I think the Trojans can go score for score with them. Matt Barkley has been the best college QB this season in my opinion. That is why I like the Trojans to pull off the upset, 41-38.
Michigan State heads to the home of the Hawkeyes, Kinnick Stadium, for a huge Big 10 matchup. The Michigan State defense, running game and solid QB play has led them to this tremendous start. Now they have the biggest test on the schedule, when the pressure is on. THe Hawkeyes have the front 4 on defense to slow the Sparty running game and their offense can put up points. Look for a low scoring battle here, I like the Hawkeyes 20-17.
Cameron Newton carries his Tigers into Oxford, MS to face the Rebels from Ole Miss. I have heard a few people saying this game will be the Tigers downfall, I don’t see it at all. The Rebels aren’t very good and even if they were, U still think the Tigers would outscore them. This is just another game for Cameron Newton to pad his Heisman stats. Give me the Tigers, 52-24.
A few other games to keep an eye on this week:
East Carolina @ UCF This is the battle for the CUSA East division, ECU’s offense vs UCF’s defense. ECU QB Dominique Davis is a stud, keep an eye on him.
Baylor @ Texas This is Baylor’s first real shot to beat the Longhorns in a very long time, I still think Texas gets it done though.
Georgia @ Florida “The Cocktail Party” is usually a big game, but with both these teams struggling, not many people care. I will still watch regardless.
Kentucky @ Mississippi State Kentucky hasn’t put very many wins together this season, but they have been impressive on offense. Miss St should muscle out a win here.
Oklahoma State @ Kansas State Justin Blackmon is suspended for this game because of a DUI, lets see how much he really means to the Okie St offense. Daniel Thomas is always a good watch.
